Hero Plumbers: The Transitional Challenges of a Family-Owned Business

This case study focuses on the transitional challenges of a family-owned business, including generational transfer of ownership, succession planning, bridge leadership during a crisis, and possible external acquisition of the business.

The focus is on a family-owned plumbing company and its struggles to survive a generational transition and competition within the U. S. residential services industry. Options are presented to the business owner by a protagonist in the person of a consultant who specializes in helping businesses survive critical leadership issues.
